Let me tell you a bit about my personal experience, I’m a French speaking Canadian, and like many of us, I have a strong handle on the English language as well. For my entire life, I’ve considered French as a minority language in North America, although if you travel in Quebec, you wouldn’t know! Up to now, I’ve never known the huge influence that the French Language has in so many countries of Africa and Europe. new Rocket French I’m in Madagascar right now, where French is the working language as it used to be a colony for about a hundred years, there is very little English. Even the South African passport is bilingual, due to the large number of French speaking countries in the area.
