Wedding Bell Blues
We had rehearsal last night. We haven’t done that in awhile because we’ve been playing so much, but we had a couple of new songs to work up. They’re special requests for a wedding we booked at the end of the month.
I hate playing private parties, and especially wedding receptions. They pay well, but you earn every penny. Usually somebody’s grandmother sits right down in front of the stack and then complains about how loud it is all night.
At least this time we’re getting the requests ahead of time. Usually people spring those on you at the gig. If I had a nickel for every time we faked through something like that, I wouldn’t have to play any more weddings!
They are gonna have open bar at this one, and that always helps.
