Lowering Triglycerides: What Are They?
If you were to ask the common person what a triglyceride is, I’m fairly confident you’d receive a variety of responses.
And for those who know what triglycerides are, the number who recognize the role they play in heart disease would be smaller.
So, just what is a triglyceride? Well, in short, it’s a type of fat common in almost all meat products and it’s even produced by our bodies in the liver.
Their role as risk factors in heart disease has yet to be clearly defined, but studies have shown that lowering triglycerides through diet greatly reduces our risk for heart disease.
