When Do You Get the Single MMR Vaccine?
The first time that you get the single MMR vaccine is when you are a child about 12 to 15 months old. After that, you will not get another single MMR vaccine until you are about 4 or 6 years of age. However, it can really be given about any time after the first shot. However, since schools require it, mostly everyone gets their shots about the same time. If you are born after 1956, and you do not know if you have had it, then you should receive the shot. If you grew up prior to 1956, then there is a good chance that you grew up with the actual disease and have built immunity to it anyway. As you can see, everyone gets his or her shots at different times.
