A Touch of Home

When my sister married an Englishman, it opened up a whole world of interesting experiences for her and they enjoyed a wonderful marriage.

And he loved living in America. But despite his good nature, she knew he missed a lot about his native country and was sometimes homesick.

Although she was on a budget, she decided to bring a bit of England to Tennessee.

So one weekend, when he was on a fishing trip, she had a red bicast leather sofa, several English hunting prints, and six brass lamps delivered. A few other accessories, and the transformation was complete.

When he got home, he found that his study had been converted into a cozy haven, with the charm of an English Pub.

Over the years they added more British touches and, when their daughter was born, “The English Room” became her favorite.
