My Bossy Dog

I have a dog that likes to boss me around.  She really thinks she calls all the shots and many times she does. I find this a very interesting dog behavior because she is in fact training me. For example, she will bark just one single bossy bark in the morning telling me to get up and take her for a walk.  If I don’t respond she will continue with that command and several other noises until I get up.  I tell her to stop, I tell her to go back to bed, but she doesn’t listen. I get up because I can’t sleep anymore with her noises and she won’t stop making them so she wins. She will try this same technique when she’s bored and wants me to play with her.  Again, it works for the same reasons. She has been this way from the very beginning when she was just a tiny puppy. My bossy dog’s name is Wendy and I love her anyway!
