Space saver stairs are a great way to save safe to get into the loft
Most domestic staircases tend to be one of 3 configurations: a straight flight staircase, which is obviously just a straight stair; a quarter turn staircase, which looks like an L shape, with a small turn typically at either the top or the bottom; and lastly a half turn staircase, which looks like a U shape. Ther are also Space saver stairs which are used for lofts but i will tell you about that at some other time. For more configurations you may try the Z shape stair or the three-quarter turn. Knowing these thoughts in advance can help you choose faster. There are useful terms that may be use in conversations such as baluster, Spindles, Stringers, Winders, Tread, Rise and Going. Tread is the place where you place you steps. The upper side of the tread above and the vertical distance between the top of the tread is the “rise” and the gap between the treads are called the “riser gap”. Going which is the horizontal distance from the front edge tread to another above/below and the sum of it all is called the overall going.
