Apistogramma cacatuoides and how to care for them
Apistogramma cacatuoides are a variety of tropical fish native to South America. A member of the dwarf cichlid family, apistogramma cacatuoides are particularly small, but they’re also relatively easy to care for in comparison to many other tropical fish species.Apistogramma Cacatuoides are also strikingly beautiful, and this colour is easy to maintain in the right environment. This is another advantage of apistogramma cacatuoides, as many other dwarf cichlid varieties lose their striking colours with each subsequent tank-reared generation. To care for apistogramma cacatuoides successfully, the right tank set-up is vital. Apistogramma cacatuoides tend to live in harem communities with one male apisto cacatuoide (as it’s otherwise known as) to several females. Male apisto cacatuoides can be territorial, so it’s essential to have a large enough tank to account for each community. As such, a tank of at least 30 gallons is recommended, with plenty of plant life as well as rocks, wood and roots to provide hiding places for weaker apisto cacatuoides.
