Platinum Cross Pendants
White gold Cross Pendants are different from gold pendants. The purest form of gold is 24 carat but it is difficult to make an ornament purely out of it as it is very soft and will lose its shape if converted into a jewel. This is the reason why goldsmiths, when making a gold jewel, add some molten alloy or other metals with the gold so that the final product is stronger and firmer. When silver or platinum is added to the gold to get the firmness, the jewel looks a little white in its appearance. That is why it is called white gold cross pendant.
