Stubborn Readers
Our son has been fighting us for over two years now as he just doesn’t want to learn to read. We have tried everything at this point. After talking to other home schooling parents, we are going to try a new tactic. My son loves anything associated with Pokemon. We are going to head over to the library and pick up some books about Pokemon characters. Then, when our son asks us to read him a book, we will do so only after he uses his reading program for a designated time. After a week or two of using the program, we will make him start reading simple words in the books. Then he will gradually be required to read more and more of the book. Hopefully this will work as nothing else has.
